Plan Your Visit

Everything you need to know for your first visit.

We know going to a new church for the first time can be intimidating. We want to help make your first experience at St. John’s a great one!

SERVICE TIMES

St. John’s worship services are every Sunday at 9:30 a.m. There are special services throughout the year as well, that can be found in the Calendar tab.

LOCATION & DIRECTIONS

St. John’s is located at 401 Live Oak Avenue in Pensacola, in the Warrington area just outside NAS Pensacola. Get directions here.

HOW LONG IS A SERVICE?

In total, a St. John’s service lasts about an hour. We follow the liturgy for Holy Eucharist Rite II as outlined in the Book of Common Prayer. If you have no idea what any of that means…no worries! Everything you need to know is in our easy-to-follow Sunday bulletin, which you can follow on paper or on your phone by scanning a QR code. The service begins with announcements, followed by the opening hymn and reading of scripture and a sermon, followed by the celebration of the Eucharist, or holy communion. You can engage with worship however you feel most comfortable.

WHAT’S THE CULTURE LIKE?

Sundays at St. John’s are warm and relaxed. Come as you are, dress comfortably, and expect to feel welcomed as our guest.

WHAT ABOUT KIDS?

Children are always welcome at St. John’s. We believe that children should have a great time learning about Jesus’ love for them every single week. We offer children’s worship bags that have activities related to the readings for the day to keep them busy and engaged. We also have colorful Whirl Story Bibles in each pew especially for kids! There is also a nursery provided for little ones; ask an usher for directions.

WHAT DO I DO WHEN I ARRIVE?

After parking in the front parking lot just off of Live Oak, simply follow the walkway into the main doors (the red ones) of the building. You can expect our friendly ushers to greet you at the door and welcome you to St. John’s. Let them know you are a visitor and they’ll be sure to get you a visitor bag. We’d love to have you take a minute or two to share your information on a red Connect card. Don’t worry — we promise not to spam or harass you! You will also find other information about church events and activities on the table in the entryway. A restroom is immediately to the left of the main entry, complete with a baby changing station.

WHAT DO I DO DURING THE SERVICE?

You may notice some movement by other worshippers. If you are new to a tradition that uses formal prayers and liturgy, we encourage you to participate without any concern for “doing things correctly.”

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER WORSHIP?

You’re invited to stay after worship and head over to the Parish Hall (off the main parking lot through the double glass doors) for coffee, lemonade, and/or doughnuts along with plenty of friendly conversation. We offer a First Sunday Brunch on the first Sunday of each month (except the summer months).
